What voice students are saying
A parent’s perspective.
My daughter has taken lessons from Rachel for a couple of years now. I immediately could see the confidence building in her after each lesson. The knowledge & talent that Rachel has is fascinating and she has an incredible way of teaching that to her students in an applicable way. Rachel makes voice lessons a positive and fun experience. And she also cheers all of her students on in their own personal lives – especially if it has to do with music. She is beyond organized with the business side of things which I appreciate as a parent. Rachel is simply the best and we are so grateful we found her!

Rachel changed my life.
I have loved singing my whole life, but it wasn’t until I started training with her that I discovered the true potential of my voice. When I faced challenges and setbacks during lessons, she faced them with me and showed me how to overcome them. As she taught me and I practiced, I realized that I CAN love the sound that comes out of my mouth EVERY time I sing. I am grateful beyond words for her patience, empathy, knowledge and love for me (and all of the vocalists she works with!) Anyone can sing, but if you want to become stronger and more consistent, Rachel can teach you how.

Supportive and attentive.
What I like best about Rachel’s teaching style is how encouraging and supportive she is, while still pushing me to reach my full potential. She’s incredibly thorough with her explanations, which makes it easier to apply her feedback right away. Compared to other teachers, Rachel is very attentive and detail-oriented, which has made a big difference in my progress.

She creates a safe space.
Rachel is wonderful at encouraging me to grow and push myself, but she has also helped me see how much progress I’ve made. She creates a very safe space to learn and make music in.

About Rachel.
Rachel has been teaching voice for over 8 years. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Utah State University, she has continued to study voice and pedagogy, expanding her knowledge of singing every day.
Rachel is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and currently serves on the activities committee for the Northern Utah Chapter.
Rachel’s work in her community enhances her private teaching. She has adjudicated soloists at region and state solo and ensemble, judged regional theater competitions all over the state, and been invited to local high schools to give presentations on acting and vocal technique.
Rachel takes a science-informed, functional approach to teaching singing. Her knowledge of vocal function, combined with her play-like structure during lessons encourages a warm learning environment where every sound is welcomed. Rachel believes in working the voice like any other part of the body that is used for activity, and she cross-trains all her students to be successful in every style.
Rachel also believes in learning through experience, and encourages her students to participate in school choir and theater programs, community productions, concerts, and more.

In June of 2024, Rachel attended the NATS Science Informed Pedagogy Institute, learning from master pedagogy teachers Lynn Helding, Amelia Rollings-Bigler, John Nix, and Allen Henderson. Rachel completed this week intensive with more in-depth knowledge of vocal function, and new, thoughtful approaches to teaching application.
Rachel is passionate about continuing her own vocal journey, and has been training with Dr. Amelia Rollings-Bigler since 2024.
